July Pediatric Clinics help 560 children

Five clinics, conducted during the week of July 1-8, saw a total of 560 children. The medical team consisted of 3 doctors and 5 nurses. 7 support staff, including a state representative, 3 teenagers, a mental health worker, retired liquor store owner, and a lawyer proved invaluable.

The majority of the children seen had a combinaton of head cold symptoms, various rashes, anemia, malnutrtion, and intestinal parasites. The children were treated with medications donated by people in the United Staes and medication bought in Haiti.

Two children were quite ill when they were seen. Both were diagnosed with malaria and treated with antibiotics.
